BioSphere is a starved oxygen gasification process〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Alternative Energy eMagazine - - AltEnergyMag )〕 that harnesses the combustibility of solid wastes in a limited–oxygen environment with significantly limited atmospheric emissions, to create a heat source to generate green electricity in a gas/steam turbine. Examples of wastes that can be converted into green energy using this technology are municipal solid waste, agricultural waste, forestry surpluses or wastes, industrial waste, medical waste materials, and traditional fossil fuels. The marketing rights to the BioSphere technology were reportedly sold to a Chinese consortium in 2013. BioSphere is one of several waste to energy technologies invented, patented, designed, developed and commercialized by McCormack. BioSphere superseded DiGenter which was first patented in 1986.
